UK-regulated firms receive anti-greenwashing compliance guidance

( April 23, 2024, 09:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK firms regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority have received final guidance to comply with the anti-greenwashing rule, which will be introduced on May 31. The guidance includes a set of expectations and a list of non-exhaustive examples to help firms understand the rules’ use cases. For example, firms are asked to issue sustainability claims that are demonstrably correct, that can be supported by evidence, and that don't hide critical information. "Consumers care about investing in products that have a positive impact on the planet and people. That’s why we want to boost the integrity of the market and ensure people can make informed decisions with their money," said Sacha Sadan, the FCA's director of environmental, social and governance.Statement follows and guidance is attached....
