​EBA proposes standards to ensure 'homogeneity' in bundles of loans

( December 15, 2017, 17:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Banks could face restrictions on loan features that they sell in bundles to investors, under draft standards from the European Banking Authority. The EU authority proposed that banks should be required to pool loans that have been underwritten and are serviced under similar standards, so that the risks can be deemed “homogenous.” The final standards, which build on EU regulations designed to reduce risks in securitizations, will go to the European Commission for approval.The statement follows.
