Clean alternatives to F-gases might require policy push, EU Commission says

( September 30, 2020, 10:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: “Climate-friendly” alternatives to fluorinated greenhouse gases for air-conditioning and switchgear equipment are available on the market but are more expensive and may thus require new EU incentives, the European Commission has said. The EU executive published reports today informing an ongoing review of rules on F-gases. “It is likely that the EU will need to take additional policy measures to promote these solutions,” the commission said in a statement.
