End of Libor confirmed as Dec. 31 for all except US dollar settings

( March 5, 2021, 09:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Market participants will no longer be able to rely on the London Interbank Offered Rate from the end of this year as the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority today confirmed the date beyond which panel bank submissions for the benchmark will cease. After this date, Libor will no longer be representative, and the industry will be required to move onto new, risk-free rates. The regulator also set out its intentions to propose using a synthetic Libor rate for tough legacy contracts. It will formally consult on using these new powers in the second quarter of this year.The statement from the FCA follows.
