European Council Statement: 14-15 March 2013 Conclusions

( March 15, 2013, 13:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU leaders called at a summit meeting for final approval of new bank capital requirements by the end of the month, and agreement “within the coming weeks” on putting the European Central Bank in charge of overseeing eurozone banks. The heads of the 27 countries also called in their meeting conclusions for an expansion of taxes on bank accounts and completion of laws on deposit guarantees and the resolution of bank failures.The following are excerpts from the statement.
