US stock exchanges agree on measures to prevent trading glitches

( November 12, 2013, 23:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US stock and options exchanges have reached broad agreement on how to strengthen securities markets following a series of glitches including Nasdaq's three-hour trading halt in August, according to a joint statement. The US Securities and Exchange Commission ordered exchanges including New York Stock Exchange operator NYSE Euronext to come up with precautions such as backup plans for key systems, and will now work with the exchanges to finalize and execute the recommendations.Statement follows in full....
