Equifax says it still faces regulatory, litigation risk from 2017 data breach in US, UK, Canada, despite settlements

( July 25, 2019, 21:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Equifax said in a securities filing that it still faces litigation and numerous regulatory actions resulting from its massive 2017 data breach, despite settlements it announced this week with the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and 48 states. Equifax said it still faces class-action litigation in Canada, as well as US lawsuits brought by the cities of Chicago, San Francisco and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Equifax said it continues to cooperate with ongoing investigations by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the US Department of Justice, other US state regulators, certain congressional committees and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.See attached filing....
