China offers more equity-financing channels for property developers to promote economic stability

( November 29, 2022, 04:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Listed Chinese property developers will be allowed to purchase real estate assets with their shares or cash, and raise funds to operate property projects, replenish working capital or repay debts, according to a series of measures introduced by the China Securities Regulatory Commission that aim to stabilize the country’s real estate market as well as its financial market. China and Hong Kong-listed property companies will also be able to refinance through private placements, the regulator said. The measures also provide more equity-financing channels for developers, which include launching real estate investment trusts, or REITs, based on warehousing and logistics assets or industrial parks; and setting up property-focused private-equity funds.The statement follows:...
