Members of US military submit debt collection complaints at twice general rate, CFPB report finds

( March 22, 2016, 17:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Tuesday issued an annual report that found that members of the US military have been submitting debt collection complaints to the agency at nearly twice the rate of non-military consumers. About 44 percent of their complaints involved companies’ attempts to collect debt that the individual believes is not owed, the CFPB said.
