Online platforms, French government sign charter to tackle 'de-referencing,' counterfeiting

( March 26, 2019, 10:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online platforms have signed a voluntary charter with the French government to improve their relationships with small businesses, said the country's secretary of state for digital issues. Mounir Mahjoubi said relations between small businesses and platforms suffer from a "lack of transparency." Groups representing small business have complained about "de-referencing," in which a product no longer appears on an e-commerce platform such as Amazon.com, Alibaba, Leboncoin or Fnac Darty. The platforms have also pledged to fight against the listing of counterfeit products.Press release (in French) follows....
