U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission: Barclays reply to opposition to motion to quash and for protective order

( December 31, 2012, 17:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Barclays has filed a response to the enforcement staff’s opposition to Barclay’s motion to quash subpoena and motion for protective order. Barclays argues that in cooperating with the order to show cause it reserved the right to object to a subpoena, the enforcement staff has not responded to the Commission’s  statement that it will issues a notice of alleged violation after the investigation ends, the enforcement staff were never granted unlimited discovery rights not connected to an ongoing case, and the subpoena exceeds the scope of investigative authority given by the Commission. See the reply below....
