Government review of UK competition regime welcomed by CMA

( July 19, 2019, 12:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has welcomed a government review of UK competition law enforcement, five years since the CMA's creation — which highlighted how improvements to its procedures and management have bolstered the UK’s competition regime. The CMA, however, noted that further work is needed to ensure that the competition regime works for the benefit of people, companies and the economy, and reforms outlined by its chairman Andrew Tyrie in February seek to address issues that will be considered in a government competition paper later this year.Statement follows. ...
