Banks' legal fees, settlements at 10-year high, OCC finds

( December 17, 2014, 21:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued a report Wednesday that said aggregate legal fees and settlements at banks are increasing and are at a 10-year high. The 12 largest banks estimate potential legal exposure at $21 billion as of June 30, according to data from the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The amounts were $23 billion, $20 billion, $14 billion in 2013, 2012, and 2011, respectively.Statement follows in full. Also see document below....
