Deloitte fined in UK over Mitie Group audit failings

( April 21, 2022, 11:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Deloitte has been fined 1.45 million pounds (around $2 million) by the UK's Financial Reporting Council for failings in its audit of outsourcing company Mitie Group. The audit watchdog said the Big Four firm and its audit engagement partner, John Charlton, admitted they had breached the relevant requirements to scrutinize evidence in Mitie's 2016 financial statements. Charlton was fined 40,000 pounds, and both he and Deloitte were ordered to pay 658,000 pounds of the FRC's investigation costs.Statement follows, the report is attached....
