Scientific instruments manufacturer to pay $2.4 million to settle FCPA charges

( December 15, 2014, 18:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday charged Bruker, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of scientific instruments, with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by providing non-business travel and $230,000 in improper payments to Chinese government officials to win business. The SEC investigation found that Bruker lacked sufficient internal controls to detect the payments, which enabled Bruker to realize about $1.7 million in profits from sales contracts with Chinese state-owned entities.Statement follows in full....
