EU citizens' data is adequately protected under new EU-US data agreement, Commission says

( March 25, 2022, 15:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The data of EU citizens will be adequately protected under a planned new data transfer agreement with the US, addressing the ruling of the European Court of Justice, the European Commission said today. The Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework comes after more than a year of negotiations between US and EU officials, the commission said. Legal documents must now be adopted on both sides to put the framework in place, and the commission can then start its adequacy decision process.Statements attached....
