​European insurers call for 'digital-friendly' marketing rules

Insurance Europe President Sergio Balbinot criticized EU rules that force companies to provide 161 items of information in paper format about each of their products, saying they don't address the needs of digital consumers. In a speech, Balbinot also urged EU lawmakers to force car manufacturers to share data collected by "connected" cars, to enable insurers to gauge and price risks. The statement follows.
