EU insurance guidelines on cloud outsourcing won’t apply in UK, says FCA

( July 8, 2020, 09:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Guidelines on outsourcing to cloud service providers for insurance and reinsurance undertakings that apply in the EU won’t be followed by the UK industry, the Financial Conduct Authority said today. The final guidelines from the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority enter into force on Jan. 1, 2021, the day after the UK’s Brexit withdrawal period is due to end. The guidelines are therefore “not applicable to regulated activities within the UK’s jurisdiction,” the FCA said. Statement follows....
