New EU due diligence rules limited to few large EU and foreign companies, draft reveals

The proposed Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, seen by MLex, would require around 1 percent of EU companies to monitor how effective their policies are, and make their due diligence practices public.Large EU and foreign companies will be obliged to conduct human rights and environmental due diligence across their supply chains or face fines and possible compensation claims, according to draft legislation to be unveiled by the European Commission tomorrow....
