Hedge funds raise concern over SEC review of ‘accredited investor’ definition

( October 8, 2014, 17:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Hedge Fund Association, which represents the private investment fund industry, expressed concern with a review by the US Securities and Exchange Commission of the definition of “accredited investor.” The SEC will discuss the review, mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act, at an Oct. 9 advisory meeting. The Hedge Fund Association urged the SEC to reject an increase in financial requirements, saying that a restriction based on net worth criteria would undermine the objective of the JOBS Act, which was inteded to make raising capital easier for small business and private investment funds.See document below....
