Department Director-General Somchai Poolsawasdi said passenger vehicles emitting more than 150 grams of CO2 per kilometer would be charged a higher tax. Pickup trucks emitting more than 200 grams CO2/km would be charged an excise rate of 5 percent instead of the typical 3 percent. Under the new system, the department expects a revenue increase of 5-10 billion baht ($139.9 to $279.8 million). ...
