Apple releases mobility data to aid public health response to Covid-19

( April 14, 2020, 17:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple has released aggregated mobility data from its Maps products intended to help authorities decide whether Covid-19 policies are having an effect on people's movements in 63 major cities, countries and regions. "This mobility data may provide helpful insights to local governments and health authorities and may also be used as a foundation for new public policies by showing the change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit in their communities," Apple said, while saying users' privacy was respected because Maps does not associate mobility data with a user’s personal Apple ID. Apple blog post follows below:...
