SEC charges CVR Energy, funds for disclosure failures in corporate control battles

( February 14, 2017, 21:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Securities and Exchange Commission issued two separate orders finding that various parties had violated disclosure requirements during battles for corporate control. The SEC alleged CVR Energy, a Texas oil refiner, made inadequate disclosures about arrangements with two investment banks. The commission separately alleged that groups of invesotrs  failed to properly disclose ownershp information as they sought to control microcap companies.  Statement follows.
