EU consumer credit rules update approved in lawmaker vote

( September 12, 2023, 11:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The updated EU Consumer Credit Directive has been approved by lawmakers in a European Parliament plenary vote. The legislation was adopted with 608 votes in favor, eight against and 15 abstentions. The directive will enter into force on the 20th day after its publication in the EU's Official Journal, and countries will then have two years to adopt necessary laws and administrative provisions, and then three years to apply them.Statement follows....
