Regulatory response to swaps market must be global, US CFTC Commissioner Stump says

( September 30, 2021, 14:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The regulatory response to the over-the-counter swaps market must be approached globally in order to achieve appropriate oversight beyond US borders, Commissioner Dawn D. Stump of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission said in response to the temporary no-action letter issued by the CFTC to non-bank swap dealers in Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the European Union. Citing her July 2020 statement regarding capital requirements for swap dealers and major swap participants, Stump stated that substituted compliance determinations are vital, because substituted compliance among comparable jurisdictions achieves the best results internationally. See statement below....
