France passed bill granting legal privilege for in-house lawyers

( January 15, 2026, 20:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The French Senate on Wednesday passed a law granting stronger legal protections to in-house lawyers without amending the text adopted by the lower chamber, or National Assembly. The text is thus definitively adopted. The country's regulators have warned that this legislation could make it harder for them to investigate corporate wrongdoing.
