European Commission to weigh options on Basel III market risk rules

The move follows a June decision to delay FRTB implementation until January 1, 2027, amid concerns over international consistency and the impact on EU banks.The EU's executive arm is considering opening a public consultation on amending the market risk prudential requirements for banks under the Basel III international standards, but “no decision has been taken on the way forward,” a spokesperson for the European Commission told MLex on Tuesday....
