EU publishes list of countries that could continue to receive exported waste

( September 18, 2026, 14:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Countries outside the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development could continue receiving certain EU waste, including some plastic, paper, metal and glass waste, after May 2027 under a draft list published Friday. The European Commission assessed requests from 32 countries seeking an exemption from an upcoming general ban on exports of non-hazardous waste.
