Indonesia opens dumping probe into galvanized steel imports from China
( September 16, 2026, 03:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia has opened a dumping investigation into imports of galvanized steel from China following a complaint from domestic producers PT Tata Metal Lestari and PT Arcelormittal Nippon Steel Indonesia, the country's Anti-Dumping Committee said Tuesday. The committee said preliminary evidence showed increased Chinese imports had injured domestic industry. China supplied about 81 percent, or 2.1 million metric tons, of Indonesia's 2.6 million metric tons of galvanized-steel imports between January 2023 and December 2025.
