EU packaging rules restrict 'forever chemicals' as businesses warn of costs

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation introduces EU-wide requirements aimed at reducing packaging waste, with further labeling, recyclability, recycled-content and reuse measures to follow. The European business group Eurochambres has called for some measures to be suspended. Food-contact packaging containing "forever chemicals" above specified thresholds "shall not be placed on the market" in the EU from Wednesday, under new packaging rules....
