Error in China fasteners duties corrected by EU; repayment ordered

( July 24, 2026, 08:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission on Friday said it corrected its anti-dumping regulation on Chinese iron and steel fasteners, after finding that two codes for products shipped from Malaysia were mistakenly retained when the measures were renewed in 2022. Because the codes should have expired with an earlier anti-circumvention measure — in 2016 — anti-dumping duties collected on imports under those codes since Feb. 18, 2022 lacked a valid legal basis. The amendment removes the codes retroactively and requires customs authorities to repay any duties collected on affected imports in accordance with EU customs legislation.The statement is attached. ...
