EU Commission's appeal against Çolakoğlu Metalurji court win published

( July 6, 2026, 09:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission's pleas against a ruling that sided with Turkish exporting producer Çolakoğlu Metalurji in its appeal against EU measures to tackle avoidance of dumping duties on imports of hot-rolled stainless-steel sheets and coils from Indonesia, but consigned from Turkey, have been released Monday. The regulator said judges were wrong to hold that the commission erred when concluding that completion operations can cover processing operations of a single input into a finished product which don't involve any assembly in a strict sense. The regulator argued that the absence of an "assembly operation" cannot rule out the existence of a circumvention practice. The summary of the appeal is attached. Case reference is C-485/26. ...
