CBP rolls out more de minimis security measures, formal rules on low-value goods

( June 25, 2026, 19:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Customs and Border Protection rolled out new rules to bolster enforcement on low-value shipments, following the Trump administration’s formal ending last year of the de minimis rule, which had exempted goods valued at $800 or less from tariffs. CBP said the new rules indefinitely suspend duty-free de minimis treatment, except for certain exemptions, such as gifts of $100 or less. CBP is also rolling out a new electronic process for global mail shipments in which importers must submit more data, such as recipient information and postal tracking numbers.Statement below:...
