Iranian man extradited to US to face sanctions violations, smuggling charges

( April 20, 2026, 19:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A 44-year-old citizen of Iran was extradited to the US and will appear in Seattle federal court on a nine-count indictment related to his alleged scheme to violate US trade sanctions against Iran. According to the indictment, between 2010 and 2014, Reza Dindar managed a business in Xi’an, China, which hid that it was procuring items in the US for companies in Iran, fraudulently claiming the goods were destined for China. Statement follows below.
