Airlines seek EU relief from jet-fuel rules as supply concerns mount

The sector is seeking flexibility on airport slot usage, refueling obligations and passenger compensation rules, while also calling for measures to secure supply, including refinery mandates and joint EU purchasing. EU refineries cover around 70 percent of the EU’s jet fuel consumption, with the rest coming from imports.Industry group Airlines for Europe has asked the EU to suspend or grant exemptions from certain rules on jet fuel as the aviation sector faces disruptions over jet fuel supplies, MLex has learned....
