China urges UK to revoke sanctions on Chinese companies over Russia-related listings

In a statement issued Monday, in response to a media question about the UK’s Russia sanctions package issued on Feb. 24, the ministry said the measures lack a basis in international law and weren’t authorized by the United Nations. The spokesperson added that China strictly controls exports of dual-use items in line with its laws and regulations, that normal business exchanges between Chinese and Russian companies shouldn’t be disrupted, and urged London to “immediately correct its wrong practices” by revoking the sanctions, as Beijing vowed to take necessary steps to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies....
