US-Bangladesh trade deal includes tariff quota on apparel

( February 10, 2026, 15:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US and Bangladesh released a joint statement confirming the details of a trade agreement that is expected to be finalized soon. The deal includes an undetermined zero tariff rate quota for apparel and textiles from Bangladesh, and the US also dropped a reciprocal tariff rate on Bangladesh to 19 percent and said it would explore a zero tariff rate for certain qualifying goods. Bangladesh committed to expanding market access for US industrial and agricultural goods, while also pledging to address non-tariff barriers such as vehicle safety standards, food and drug certification and digital trade and to adopt stronger labor, environmental and intellectual property laws. Bangladesh and the US noted in the statement that Bangladesh would purchase  $3.5 billion of US agriculture products, including wheat, soy, cotton, and corn, along with $15 billion in energy products, over 15 years. Statement follows below:...
