The lawmakers on the committee voted to support draft legislation that would limit tariff-free import volumes to 18.3 million tonnes a year, a reduction of 47 percent from 2024. It would also apply a 50 percent duty to imports above the quota and ban all steel imports from Russia and Belarus.
