China to extend anti-subsidy duties on US solar-grade polysilicon for five years

( January 14, 2026, 02:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday that it will continue anti-subsidy duties on solar-grade polysilicon imports from the US for another five years from Wednesday, after completing an expiry review of the measures. The ministry said ending the measures would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of subsidization and injury to China’s domestic industry. The decision follows a review launched in January 2025 at the request of China’s industry and maintains duty rates first imposed in 2014 and extended in 2020, with US producers facing anti-subsidy duties ranging from zero to 2.1 percent.
