China, EU make progress on price undertaking guidance in EV subsidy talks

( January 12, 2026, 09:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China and the EU have made progress in talks aimed at resolving the EU’s anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese battery electric vehicles, agreeing on the need to provide exporters with general guidance on price undertakings, China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement Monday. The ministry said both sides see such guidance as a way for Chinese exporters of passenger BEVs to the EU to address concerns in a more practical and targeted manner consistent with World Trade Organization rules. It said the EU will issue a guidance document on submission of price undertaking offers, confirming that each price undertaking offer will be assessed against the same legal criteria.Statement follows (in Chinese and English)....
