Australia drops anti-dumping probe into Indonesian rebar imports

( January 6, 2026, 07:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade said the Australian government has officially terminated its anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled deformed steel reinforcing bar imports from Indonesia, reopening the Australian market to Indonesian steel products. In a statement on Monday, the ministry cited a report by the Australia Anti-Dumping Commission, which found a dumping margin of just 1.3 percent, below the commission's 2 percent threshold for action. As a result, Indonesian hot-rolled deformed steel reinforcing bar products “are not subject to anti-dumping import duties,” the ministry said. The investigation had previously constrained Indonesian steel exports to Australia.Statement follows (Indonesian). ...
