Indonesia set to sign free trade agreement with Eurasian bloc this month

( December 15, 2025, 08:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia is set to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union as it seeks to expand market access and strengthen economic cooperation with the region, Trade Minister Budi Santoso said. In a statement on Friday, Santoso said the signing could take place as early as Dec. 20 or 21 on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. He added that all EAEU member states — Kazakhstan, Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan — are now completing domestic approval procedures required ahead of signing. Indonesia’s trade with the Eurasian Economic Union reached $4.1 billion in 2024, with exports rising 36 percent year on year to $1.5 billion, while imports fell 4 percent to $2.4 billion.Statement follows (Indonesian)....
