Anglo American-Teck Resources global deal faces public review in Australia

In a statement published late Monday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Anglo American’s local businesses were focused on the production and sale of steelmaking coal for export to Asia, Europe and South America; while Teck Resources’ Australian operations involved the supply of zinc concentrate to Australian customers, although it doesn’t supply copper or zinc to Australian customers and has no local copper- or zinc-mining or production operations.
