USTR assigns tariff quotas sugar imports for fiscal year 2026

( August 14, 2025, 14:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The Office of the US Trade Representative announced new tariff rate quotas for imported raw cane sugar, certain sugars, syrups and molasses, and other sugar products, for the fiscal year 2026, running from Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 30, 2026. USTR allotted 1,117,195 metric tons raw value (MTRV) of raw sugar for the fiscal year to around three dozen countries. USTR will also allot refined sugar of 10,300 MTRV to Canada, 2,954 MTRV to Mexico, and 7,090 MTRV on a first-come, first-served basis. And USTR will allot 1,656 MTRV of specialty sugar on a first-come, first-serve basis, and allot 59,250 metric tons of sugar products to Canada, with another 5,459 metric tons allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.See attached file....
