China to impose antidumping duties on EU brandy imports, with some exemptions

( July 4, 2025, 08:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China has decided to impose five-year anti-dumping duties ranging from 27.7 percent to 34.9 percent on certain brandy imports from the EU, starting July 5, according to the final ruling issued today by the Ministry of Commerce, or Mofcom. Products that meet price commitments proposed by relevant EU industry associations and companies will be exempt from the duties, the statement added. Mofcom determined that spirits distilled from grape wine in containers of less than 200 liters — commonly known as brandy — were being dumped in China, posing a threat of material injury to the domestic brandy industry. The probe, initially launched on Jan. 5, 2024, was extended twice, first to April 5 and then to July 2025.The statement follows and the files are attached:...
