US Commerce preliminarily says China subsidizes erythritol producers

( May 15, 2025, 13:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The US Commerce Department made a preliminary determination that China is subsidizing producers of erythritol, a sugar alcohol used as a sweetener. Commerce, which investigated the period from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023, assigned a preliminary subsidy rate of 3.29 percent to Baolingbao Biology Co., Ltd, and 3.49 percent to Shandong Sanyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. All other Chinese producers have a preliminary rate of 3.47 percent.Federal Register notice is attached....
