EU medical-device suppliers face discrimination in China public procurement

It warned Beijing that it might follow with punitive measures such as price penalties or exclusion from the bloc's tenders, if the restrictions are not removed. China's public procurement market rules discriminate against EU providers of medical devices, the European Commission said in a report issued today. The investigation, opened in April last year, has shown that China limits the access to its government contracts "in an unfair and discriminatory way," the EU regulator said, warning that it might follow with punitive measures if the restrictions aren't removed....
