Indonesia sets regulatory roles for ride-hailing, delivery services

Passenger ride-hailing fares will be regulated by the Transport Ministry, while the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs will oversee tariffs for food and goods deliveries, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said Tuesday. Online transportation operators will come under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Before the presidential regulation is issued, the government will review the draft for consistency with existing regulations and consult platforms, drivers and industry groups.
