France confirms social media ban for under-15s; first EU member state to do so (update*)

Following an objection to a previous draft by the European Commission, French lawmakers revisited the bill, focusing on the minors themselves, instead of the platforms’ responsibility regarding online safety, and taking out specifics on enforcement.France confirmed on Tuesday that it's implementing a social media ban for users under 15, after lawmakers in the Senate, the country's upper chamber in parliament, voted in favor of the measures as the first EU member state to do so (see here)....
