( June 3, 2026, 10:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mobile service on trains must be improved, UK telecom regulator Ofcom said on Wednesday as part of a broader campaign to get mobile companies, local authorities and others to enhance the quality and reliability of mobile service across the country. The regulator said its research showed that mobile signal from masts often wasn’t strong enough around train lines and some carriage types were difficult for signals to pass through, while on-board Wi-Fi on trains was also outdated. Ofcom also called for feedback on its report on how to improve the quality of mobile service called Connectivity You Can Count On by July 29, which it said would help shape its priorities, with the next update due in early 2027.
